Their $1000 recommendations for case and PSU are solid, you could easily sub those in for what I put above.
Their CPU and GPU choices are dubious though. They're going with a tri-core AMD Phenom in hopes of overclocking it and unlocking the dormant core. They're also going with massive overkill for video. I know they're doing it for experimental purposes, but I'm of the opinion that you want more CPU and adequate graphics, not adequate CPU and monster graphics. Bad call there, I think, and when they do their next guide the other way 'round, I think I'll be proven right.
